Kick-Off of the EU-Funded Minotaur Project
On November 14–15, 2024, the Minotaur Project, an EU-funded initiative aimed at advancing innovation in mining technology, was officially launched in Brussels. Hosted by IMA-Europe, the kick-off meeting united industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers from across Europe to set priorities for the development of cutting-edge exploration technologies for deep land deposits. The project seeks to enhance resource efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability in mining practices. Special thanks to HaDEA representatives for their valuable contributions, fostering collaboration and guiding this transformative initiative.

MINOTAUR: Exploitation & Intellectual Property Rights
On January 27, 2025, MINOTAUR Consortium partners gathered for the project’s first Exploitation Workshop. This session set the stage for a shared understanding of crucial topics like background knowledge, project results, exploitation outcomes, access rights, and ownership.

With this strong foundation, upcoming Exploitation and IPR workshops will drive the creation of a strategic and impactful exploitation plan for MINOTAUR’s results.

EGU24 General Assembly
The EGU24 General Assembly welcomed 20,979 registered attendees, of which 18,388 made their way to Vienna from 116 countries and 2,591 joined online from 109 countries. It was a great success with 18,896 presentations given in 1,044 sessions. Thereby, 57% of the abstracts were identified as contributions from Early Career Scientists (ECS).
